Don’t miss out on an amazing opportunity to show your community that you could be the next American Idol! Alright, all you talented singers…get ready to mark your calendars! Clair Brothers and Lititz Springs Park are giving you the chance of a lifetime. An “Idol Search” competition will be added to this year’s Lititz 4th of July celebration! This is your chance to become a local idol sensation! The competition will be set up in true American Idol fashion. Auditions will be held on Sat. June 7th at 10am at the Lititz Community Center, where contestants will perform a cappella. Judges will then select the top twelve who will go on to compete in “Idol Search” in front an audience of thousands on July 4th in Lititz Springs Park. (Contestants who make it into the top twelve group will be notified the day of their audition or by phone.) Each contestant will be able to choose what song they wish to perform for Idol Search. Rehearsals for the chosen twelve will be held on Tues. June 10th and Tues. June 17th. The Idol search contestants will perform with the support of a live band and a full Clair Brothers stage production. Idol Search will be televised by Channel 11 Blue Ridge Cable. A panel of professional judges from the entertainment industry (including a member of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons) will comment on each performance and ultimately chose the winner of Idol Search. First prize is $500 and paid transportation to next season’s American Idol Audition! The second place winner will receive $250 and third place will win $125. This competition is for single vocalists only who are residents of Lancaster County. No group vocals or instrumentation will be permitted. Idol hopefuls must be between 16 26 years of age.
