LITITZ, PA – 2012 marks the 195th consecutive year that Lititz Springs Park will be celebrating the Fourth of July. The town boasts one of the longest consecutive celebrations in the United States. The very first celebration in the park took place in 1811, 201 years ago. This year’s celebration will be very special. All military service men and women, past and present will be honored. The theme will be “Our American Heroes.”

On Tuesday, July 3 the Lititz Lions Club sponsor a Patriotic Parade through the town of Lititz followed by (approximately 8 PM) a free concert in the park by popular 50’s and 60’s cover band, Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods. For more information visit www.LititzLions.org.

Wednesday, July 4 (rain date Saturday, July 7) offers a fun-filled day of food, games and entertainment. Visitors should come early and stay all day to take advantage of all the days activities. WJTL radio’s Lisa Landis will be the emcee for the event. Scheduled entertainment includes the singing of the National Anthem and National Bell Ringing Ceremony, New Line Revue Dancers, Panning for Gold with General Sutter, Children’s Games, Celebrity Pie Eating Contest, 23rd Annual Baby Parade, Children’s Poster Contest, Lititz Community Band, Steven Courtney + the Suitcase Musicians, 71st Annual Queen of the Candles Pageant, 169th Grand Illumination of Candles along the Lititz Springs Carter’s Run. The featured entertainment will be rising country music star Nicole Donatone and the night will be capped off by Fireworks! Synchronized Pyromusical Extravaganza by Celebration Fireworks and Clair Global. Throughout the day there will be many food and beverage choices available, military displays, inflatables for kid’s enjoyment, games, SmileBooth, roving clowns, storytelling, caricaturist, and many more surprises!

Gates open at noon. Admission to the event is $9 for Adults in advance, $10 at the gate. Children 2 to 10, $4. Under 2, Free. The advance tickets can be purchased at Bomberger’s Store, McElroy Pharmacy, Stauffers of Kissel Hill Lititz location, Lititz Public Library and the Lititz Welcome Center. Lititz Springs Park is a private park, owned by the Lititz Moravian Congregation and maintained by the churches of Lititz, for public use. The park relies heavily on the generous giving of citizens of the community- citizens like you- who appreciate the park.
